Dana Dewey is President of Mission Solutions at SMX, leading an over $4B business. He has more than 30 years of both industry and Department of Defense (DoD) experience leading large complex organizations and programs. His areas of expertise include full spectrum global mission support, C5ISR operations, large scale growth, systems and aerospace engineering, logistics, business operations, test and evaluation, financial management, strategic planning, and DOD programming.

Dana has leadership experience as an executive in industry and as a senior Naval Officer, Aviator, Experimental Test Flight Officer, Program Director, and combat veteran.

Dana is focused on innovation, championing next generation, non-traditional ISR tradecraft with emphasis on federated data transport and advanced decision analytics. Dana is passionate about reimagining the commercial mission support industry through digital transformation, operationalizing multi-modal information, and delivering actionable knowledge precisely at the point of need, enabling clients to swiftly achieve mission success. Key to success in meeting client needs is having SMX team members both forward and back – forward embedded globally in support of special forces conducting real-world operations, and back at multiple connected nodes providing actionable intelligence analytics tactically downrange at the point of need and strategically to the broader mission support and intelligence community.

Previously, as Executive Vice President at SMX, Dana led delivery and growth of more than $2B of mission critical Global Combatant Command, Joint Special Operations Forces and DoD Services requirements.

Before joining SMX, Dana served as the government F-35 Program Director and as a Major Defense Acquisition Program Manager for the Navy E-6 aircraft strategic nuclear command, control, and communications program.

A Distinguished Graduate of the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School, Dana received his Master of Science in Aeronautical Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School and his Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy. Dana is an active member of the Professional Services Council and the Association of Naval Aviators.

Dana grew up in Vienna, Virginia, and considers his place of work wherever his clients and team are. He and his wife of over 30 years currently reside in Leonardtown, MD and have three adult children.
