The SATCOM/Network Field Operations Support Technician provides operational and technical support for a Department of Defense (DoD) program office responsible for managing and sustaining global satellite communications (SATCOM) capabilities. This role requires expertise in tactical and strategic SATCOM systems, with a strong background in deployed communications support, particularly in austere environments. Successful candidates require experience in the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting and logistics of geographically distributed SATCOM and network systems to ensure continuous operation. The technicians will leverage their experience supporting expeditionary communications to enhance SATCOM network performance, ensure mission readiness, and provide technical assistance to deployed personnel. This is an expat position, living and working in the Philippines.
Successful candidates will deploy worldwide to provide technical expertise on tactical SATCOM systems, including Ka, Ku, X, L, and UHF SATCOM solutions. Candidates will perform spectrum management to optimize satellite communications and mitigate interference, and support the SATCOM system integration with tactical networks, IP-based systems, and hybrid communication architectures. Additionally, this role will serve as the on-site Security Officer and Communications Security Responsible Officer (COMSEC CRO) supporting physical security and key management for secure communications. The position also performs site logistics duties, managing inventories and equipment shipments using military and commercial resources to maintain system readiness. Candidates will also train and support end-users on SATCOM and network operations, troubleshooting, and field deployment best practices while ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies, SATCOM and network security protocols, and operational requirements.
This position requires a DoD TS/SCI clearance and SAP (Special Access Program) which requires US citizenship for work on DoD contracts.
