Laura Braksator, Chief Growth Officer at SMX, joined in 2021 and assumed responsibility for business development, capture, proposal management, marketing, and communications. By executing the company’s business strategy, accelerating its growth, and enhancing its position as a market leader Laura enables SMX’s clients to obtain quality services and solutions that meet their mission objectives.

Laura understands the importance of collaboration to provide the best solutions to support the needs of SMX customers, including teaming with other firms within the government space to bring full scale technology solutions that address multiple areas.  

She brings to the position more than 20 years of experience in the federal government and technology sectors, managing large sales teams, strategic planning, business development, pipeline management, proposal management, budgeting, and marketing. Throughout her career she has been known for managing and maintaining large pipeline development and revenue goals.

Before joining SMX, Laura served as Executive Vice President/Chief Growth Officer of business development for three successive organizations, successfully leading their teams in growing civilian, defense, and intelligence portfolios: Arctic Slope Regional Corporation, Federal, Perspecta, and General Dynamics Information Technology. She began her career in the Federal Civilian customer area and was an early supporter of the developing Homeland Security market. 

Now a resident of Virginia, Laura is originally from Pennsylvania. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Lock Haven University in Lock Haven, PA, and her Master of Business Administration from La Salle University in Philadelphia, PA. 

She is a member and former board member of Women in Homeland Security, the Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA), and the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA). She also serves as a mentor in the American Corporate Partners Veteran Mentoring Program. 

When she’s not working, Laura enjoys traveling abroad and spending time with her family.
