According to the 2023 Gartner CIO and Technology Executive Survey, “46% of organizations will increase their spend on application modernization (the top four technology area in spending) and 50% will increase their spend on cloud platforms in 2023 (the top three technology area in spending). Also, 47% will decrease investments in legacy infrastructure and data center technologies, illustrating the transition to modern technology platforms.”
This shift to prioritizing application modernization and cloud platform spend is a necessity for organizations that want to prioritize agility, security, and the ability to scale as needed while reducing overall cost. The longer-term impact is determined by the decisions made when looking at your current infrastructure and deciding whether it makes sense to rehost, replatform, rearchitect, rebuild or replace your existing technology stack. When you establish a clear approach with outcomes in mind, you’ll ensure greater impact and a reduction in cost.
