SMX is actively seeking a highly skilled Senior Windows Administrator to join our team in the support of one of our customers. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in the management of the TS Lift environment, workstations, and associated infrastructure.   • Oversee and manage a large complex IT environment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability
  • Manage file servers and firewalls to maintain a secure and efficient network infrastructure
  • Leverage VMware skills for effective virtualization and resource management
  • Customer Interaction: Engage directly with the customer, ensuring their specific requirements are met within a lab environment while being responsible for clear communication, troubleshooting efforts, and cyber packages, findings and remediation
  • Onsite Presence: Maintain primarily onsite presence, particularly during the initial phase, to facilitate effective communication and collaboration
  • Build and Automation: Demonstrate proficiency in executing new builds using established processes and procedures
  • Utilize automation tools, including Kickstart and Ansible, to streamline deployment and maintenance processes
  • Security Compliance: Implement and uphold security measures, incorporating ACAS (Assured Compliance Assessment Solution) and adhering to STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides)

Required Skills and Experience

  • Clearance Level Needed: Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Top Secret Clearance 
  • Must be DoD 8570 IAT Level II certified. Some examples (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+CE, CND and SSCP)
  • Experience in deploying infrastructure as code with Ansible and/or Terraform. Strong Linux background, specifically RedHat Enterprise Linux, is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of, and hands on with, DoD Enterprise on-premise networks

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with public, private, and hybrid cloud capabilities
  • Experience with ACAS and STIG checklists
  • Experience in the AWS GovCloud platform
  • Experience in DoD Navy networks preferred
  • Basic understanding of developing/working with APIs
  • Basic understanding of source code management and version control systems
  • Ability to communicate within a structured, delivery-centric professional services team clearly and effectively
  • Windows Active Directory, ACAS, DNS, and STIG remediation experience
  • At least 1 year experience with Java, Python, R or other programming language
  • Basic understanding of hybrid cloud architectures and data integration needs
  • Must have good communication skills and be able to lead complex projects
  • 5+ years of experience in a role that encompasses enterprise level systems administration
  • A degree in a technical discipline preferred
  • Possess cloud related certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Sys Ops Administrator, Developer, etc. is a plus
