SMX is seeking an All-Source Intelligence Analyst (Southeast Asia) to support SOCPAC in providing Steady-State, Crisis, and Predictive Intelligence coverage of Southeast Asia and periphery countries, facilitating both CONOP development and support for USINDOPACOM, USSOCOM, SOCPAC and interagency planning to develop a full range of Special Operations options.
This position requires a DoD TS/SCI clearance which requires US citizenship for work on DoD contracts.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Analysis and Assessment:
- Utilize all-source intelligence (HUMINT, SIGINT, IMINT, MASINT, and OSINT) to analyze enemy capabilities, vulnerabilities, and potential courses of action
- Develop comprehensive threat assessments to inform CONOP development and support USINDOPACOM, USSOCOM, SOCPAC, and interagency planning for a full range of Special Operations options
Intelligence Production and Dissemination:
- Research, analyze, and develop complex intelligence products, including critical factors analysis and targeted country estimates, to provide a robust understanding of the dynamic Southeast Asian landscape
- Collaborate with analysts and subject matter experts to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of intelligence products, such as INTSUMs, CUBs, Daily Read books, O&I reports, and Current Threat Briefs
- Deliver briefings and presentations to diverse audiences, including SOCPAC leadership, staff, and component commands
Interagency Collaboration and Liaison:
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration with personnel across SOCPAC, USINDOPACOM JIOC, USSOCOM, and other intelligence agencies
- Participate in interagency and international meetings and conferences to share expertise and synchronize intelligence efforts
- Subject Matter Expertise:
- Develop and maintain deep subject matter expertise on assigned countries in Southeast Asia (eg, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia), encompassing political, economic, social, cultural, physical, geographic, technical, and military aspects
- Identify intelligence gaps and recommend collection strategies to enhance understanding of the operational environment
- Assist in integrating new information with existing intelligence holdings to maintain an accurate current intelligence picture
- Develop detailed population demographics, analyze political and socio-economic factors, and assess critical infrastructure systems
Required Skills & Experience
- Required clearance: TS/SCI
- Bachelor’s degree in any field, or eight (8) years of experience (within the last 10 years) in threat analysis, indications and warnings, intelligence collection, analysis, and production
- Eight (8) years of progressively responsible intelligence analyst experience, covering tactical through operational/COCOM levels
- Three (3) years of experience in intelligence analysis, reporting, and briefing within the USINDOPACOM AOR Intelligence Enterprise, the US Intelligence Community, and interagency settings
- Three (3) years of experience in DoD & Interagency Intelligence programs, including asymmetric threat analysis, PACOM/JCS training events, and familiarity with PACOM countries
- Three (3) years of experience utilizing theater and national-level intelligence systems and tools, including RMT, TAC, FADE/MIST, Palantir, CIDNE, etc
- Three (3) years of experience analyzing and understanding the dynamics of a specific region within Southeast Asia (eg, South Asia, Northeast Asia)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor presentations and reports for various audiences
Desired Skills & Experience
- At least two (2) years supporting Special Operations Forces (SOF)
Travel: CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required, including potential deployments of up to 90 days to Southeast Asian countries (Philippines, Indonesia, etc.)
